David Lawton

A childhood case of glossophilia led David Lawton on a journey to five continents, where he spent time studying languages, immersion-style. Notably, he spent nearly five years as a bon vivant in France earning a License ès Lettres from Université de Montpellier III, where he helped lead the basketball team to the national tournament semi-finals. In addition to running with bulls and playing guitars, David served as a trilingual interpreter for conferences in countries across Europe, including Switzerland, Portugal and Hungary. These days, David puts his love of languages and joie de vivre to excellent use for clients around the world as part of Bracewell’s financial restructuring team. His practice focuses on finding the mot juste in the representation of hedge funds, institutional investors, fund managers and other lenders and equity groups in complex workouts, insolvency proceedings, and litigation in U.S. and international corporate restructurings. Pass the foie gras and Sauternes, s’il vous plaît! To learn more about David, check out his firm bio.
