Elizabeth McGinley

Who chooses to take multiple philosophy courses on top of an accounting major? Someone who’s creative and analytical as well as systematic and practical. That’s Elizabeth McGinley. Following several years of work using her systematic and practical side as a certified public accountant, Liz found herself drawn to the creative nature of the world of tax law, enrolling at New York University School of Law to pursue a career as a tax attorney. Now, she has the ability to make use of both interests; as a member of Bracewell’s tax department, Liz represents funds and institutional investors in connection with acquisitions, recapitalizations and restructuring debt, with an emphasis on distressed situations and bankruptcy, high stakes matters where being both logical and analytical is fundamental, but where creative lawyering can mean a world of difference to a client.  To learn more about Liz, check out her firm bio.
